Prior to becoming Regional Schools Commissioner for the South West (RSC SW), Lisa Mannall was CEO of The Learning Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust of 10 schools in Cornwall. Before that, she was a headteacher at schools in Cornwall and Hertfordshire.
Lisa became head of Trenance Infant School in Cornwall in 2007, taking it from Satisfactory to Outstanding in three years. Trenance was one of the first schools to convert to academy status in November 2010. It was also the founding school of the Trenance Learning Academy Trust, which became The Learning Academy Trust. She was a National Leader of Education and an elected member of the South West Headteacher Board from September 2014 until she was appointed as RSC SW
