Network Managers are at the forefront of new developments in edtech and IT infrastructure, but often don’t receive the attention of their pedagogical peers.
While many may be looking forward to the summer holidays already, we are looking even further ahead, to the Schools & Academies Show Birmingham in November. So it seems only prudent to welcome aboard the Association of Network Managers in Education (ANME), a group dedicated to improving the lives of Network Managers in schools across the UK.
Network Managers often don’t receive the attention of their pedagogical peers. So, in 2014, two Network Managers, Rick Cowell and Ben Whitaker, each with over fifteen years’ experience working in schools, formed the ANME to get their colleagues out of their offices and into each other’s heads: freely sharing best practice and coming together to overcome challenges in one another’s schools.
How the ANME is here to help
Concerned that your school isn’t GDPR compliant? Can’t decide whether to lease or purchase? Or is the new cloud-based database giving you a headache? Don’t worry; the chances are a fellow Network Manager has been there before you. No matter your type of school, maintained, independent, academy, all-through, primary, college or anything in between, you can find a colleague to pick their brains and hear their answers.
The not-for-profit rapidly outgrew its initial local setup and has exploded out of its early Lancastrian foundations, with 5 different regions now hosting termly meetings. Currently, Network Managers and IT Technicians can regularly come together in the North West, West Midlands, East Midlands, South and South West to discuss the latest trends affecting them in education, as well as communicating and collaborating on their private member Portal at any time.
SAAS Show partners with the Association of Network Managers in Education
With that collaborative and solution-oriented mindset, it is only natural that the SAAS Show should partner with the Association of Network Managers in Education. Joining us at the show will be the West Midlands regional network building session, providing the perfect opportunity to meet with them, our knowledgeable speakers and exciting exhibitors all under one roof.
The ANME will be leading a session in our Technology & Educational Resources Theatre too. Their practitioners will be on hand to explore the issues that Network and Data Managers confront every day, from designing data back-ups to budget discussions.
You can learn more about the ANME, as well as how to join (for free), here.
